It&#8217;s also one of the most biodiverse\u2014and one of the least explored. In fact, until recently, it was considered &#8220;off limits&#8221; by scientists because it was thought to be too dangerous to explore.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>But Yolarnie Amepou wasn&#8217;t afraid of danger\u2014she trekked through jungles and swam through rivers to study its wildlife.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>She became one of the first female zoologists from Papua New Guinea.
