Scope/Description:

The Indian Journal of Surgery is the official publication of the Association of Surgeons of India that considers articles in all fields of surgery. Issues are published bimonthly in the months of February, April, June, August, October and December. The journal publishes Original articles, Points of surgical technique, Review articles, Case reports, Letter to editor, Images in surgery and Teachers and surgeons from the past - A short (up to 500 words) bio sketch of a revered teacher or surgeon whom one holds in esteem. The journal provides a platform for the publication of high-quality clinical and experimental studies, thereby documenting recent advances and new developments in all fields of surgery. The Journal is an academic initiative of the Association of Surgeons of India, which has more than 17,000 member surgeons in India alone. The main objective of the journal is to provide a platform for surgeons from India and Abroad to exchange ideas, propagate the advancement of science and art of surgery and promote friendship among surgeons in India and globally. Over the years this Journal has been able provide a powerful platform for Surgeons in bringing-out up-to-date scientific information to the community. Indian Journal of Surgery focuses on General surgery and certain aspects of Pediatric Surgery, Surgical Oncology, Trauma Services, Minimal Access Surgery, Endocrine Surgery, GI Surgery, Colorectal Surgery that are relevant to a general surgeon. Each submitted article is reviewed by more than 500 professional surgeons from across the globe based on their surgical specialization. The journal aims to continue its mission of being the ambassador of surgical research and innovations from India, and also serve as a platform of surgeons from across the world to share their research findings.
