The Revista Chilena de Historia Natural was funded in 1897 by the Prof. Carlos E. Porter. The main objective is to publish original articles in the areas of Autecology (including Ecophysiology and Behavior); Population and Community Ecology; Systematics and Taxonomy; Organic Evolution; Population Genetics; Biogeography; Paleobiology; Parasitology; Botany; and Zoology. The journal covers aspects of basic and biological science for the use and management of biotic resources, including the study of the human impact over natural systems or natural organisms.
