Journal of Arabian Studies is the only journal focusing on the Arabian Peninsula its surrounding waters and their connections with the Western Indian Ocean from West India to East Africa from Antiquity to the present day. It covers a wide range of topics in all disciplines in the social sciences and the humanities. It presents the results of new observations and original research providing authoritative information in an accessible way to appeal to the general reader as well as the specialist.Journal of Arabian Studies follows in the footsteps of Arabian Studies University of Cambridge 19741990 and New Arabian Studies University of Exeter 19942004 although it breaks new ground by incorporating social science subjects and extending the journals scope to the present day.Journal of Arabian Studies welcomes submissions in anthropology archaeology architecture Arabic literature archives cultural studies economics ethnography gender studies geopolitics history ancient to modern human geography Indian Ocean studies international relations Islamic studies linguistics literature material culture maritime culture media studies migration studies political economy political Islam political science security studies sociolinguistics sociology travel literature and urban studies.
