The Journal originated in 1941 under the title of Memoirs of Faculty of Science Kyushu Imperial University Series A Mathematics in order to publish original research papers in pure and applied mathematics ---before that, some papers in mathematics were published in the Memoirs of College of Engineering Kyushu Imperial University.In 1994, this journal made a fresh-start under the present title by the establishment of the editorial board with mathematicians from other universities mainly in Kyushu area, Currently, more than 650 copies of each volume are distributed to universities and institutes around the world, and electric version has also been launched in 2005:
