The journal publishes original research dedicated to Italian art from Late Antiquity to the 20th century including its global outreach. Preference is given to articles that have a wide focus and open new perspectives to the field either by using innovative methods tackling original questions or by presenting unpublished material of high relevance. Thematic issues which can also transcend the limits of Italian art history and address general aspects of art historical discourse are published from time to time.
