Quaderni Urbinati di Cultura Classica was founded in 1966 as a biannual periodical and it is now published three times a years it ranges among its contributors the most distinguished classicists from Italy and abroad and has acquired international reputation for its high standard of scholarship. It particularly welcomes contributions which combine a rigorous philological approach to classical texts with analysis based on modern disciplines such as linguistics semiotics and anthropology. By virtue of the originality of results and of the wide range of discussion promoted Quaderni Urbinati di Cultura Classica plays a key role in the interpretation of Greek culture and mentality and has become one of the leading journals for the study of archaic and hellenistic poetry as well as of Greek and Latin metrics.
