Scope/Description:

When the Scandinavian Journal of the Old Testament was first published in 1987 it was expected to become the principal forum of Scandinavian Old Testament research. Reality has surpassed the expectations of the founders as Scandinavian Journal of the Old Testament is rapidly becoming one of the major outlets of international Old Testament scholarship although without losing its specific Scandinavian character.Contributions by leading scholars have in recent years changed the scholarly understanding of the history of Israel. Such contributions have often been published in the Scandinavian Journal of the Old Testament including the editors The Old TestamentA Hellenistic Book Scandinavian Journal of the Old Testament 7 1993 that opened up for a totally new direction in the discussion about the origins of the Old Testament. In this capacity the Scandinavian Journal of the Old Testament has become one of the principal outlets of the socalled Copenhagen School of Old Testament Studies. But its scope has never been limited to only one position of Old Testament studies and articles by scholars from all parts of the world and representing almost every position as to Old Testament studies are published in the Scandinavian Journal of Old Testament Studies.

Impact Factor

Impact factor (IF) is a scientometric factor based on the yearly average number of citations on articles published by a particular journal in the last two years. A journal impact factor is frequently used as a proxy for the relative importance of a journal within its field. Find out more: What is a good impact factor?

III. Other Science Influence Indicators

Any impact factor or scientometric indicator alone will not give you the full picture of a science journal. There are also other factors such as H-Index, Self-Citation Ratio, SJR, SNIP, etc. Researchers may also consider the practical aspect of a journal such as publication fees, acceptance rate, review speed.
