The Vierteljahrschrift fr Sozial und Wirtschaftsgeschichte Quarterly for Social and Economic History was founded in 1903 and is the oldest journal in its discipline. It regularly publishes articles on theoretical and methodological issues as well as studies on the status location and situation of research in the field of economic and social history.In the area of social history the VSWG investigates social policy social developments and individual social groups and strata both in Germany and in various other European countries from the Middle Ages until the 21st century.The essays on economic history analyse economic policy economic orders and the history of finance.
